About the MacCore:
The MacCore was created when
Katie and Corey, two Mac-enthusiasts, got together and
decided to turn their passion for Apple Computer into a
Podcast. It is our hope the MacCore will develop into an
online users group of Mac users from beginners to the
Mac-Guru.
In order for the MacCore to thrive we need your
participation. We have established an email address,
voicemail hotline and forums to allow our listeners to
participate in the show and interact.. We welcome your
Mac-related questions, comments or suggestions and will try
to feature as many of them as we can on the podcast.
We consider this website and the MacCore to always be
a work in progress, we hope that you’ll listen to our
program and find it both educational and a little
entertaining. We look forward to hearing form you.

Meet your Hosts:
Corey:
Corey has been working with computers since 1980. His first
computer was an Atari 400, which was soon upgraded to an
Apple //e. Next his father bought the first model
Macintosh, and from there he was hooked.
Corey is the Macintosh repair guy for the local school
board. He also owns his own computer consulting
business, Tek Speks, in which he helps individuals and
businesses repair, maintain, train, and more. Corey
has been Vice President of the local Macintosh User Group
since, 1998. He is an A+ certified technician and has
his Apple 10.3 and 10.4 Help Desk certification.
Katie:
Katie has been living and working on the
computer since 1984 when her father brought home the
original Macintosh. From that day she was hooked and never
looked back. She's owned the original 128k Macintosh, a
Macintosh LC, Quadra 660AV, PowerMac 7100, Original
Titanium PowerBook, 12" PowerBook G4 and most recently a
black MacBook.
Katie previously worked in technical support and service
for a major publishing company and is now a litigator. In
her free time she is an Apple evangelist, records this
podcast and is an active member of her local Macintosh
Users Group. Katie is also a frequent contributor on the
Typical Mac User Podcast and a
member for the
Mac Roundtable.
Our RSS Feeds
We have a few different RSS feeds
available for you to choose from. That's because we produce
this podcast in two different formats as well as run the
blog on a separate feed. If you use iTunes (which our
statistics tell us nearly 95% of you do) then we suggest
you use the iTunes Subscribe link which will auto subscribe
you to our enhanced AAC feed in iTunes. This is our primary
podcast feed which most (but not all) of the time includes
special iTunes only features including chapter markers,
custom album artwork, and links that appear in iTunes to
things mentioned in the show. The size difference between
the AAC and the MP3 is usually less than a MB and all of
the feeds post at the exact same time. If you are using a
player other than iTunes and portable media device other
than the iPod, we have a standard MP3 podcast feed for
everyone else. But we do more than just publish a podcast.
We also have an RSS feed for our homepage which includes
the last 10 items posted on the page which will usually be
a combination of podcasts, reviews, news, or other
announcements. In the news feed, you get everything that is
published to our site, including our Enhanced AAC podcast.
However, the feed only logs the last 10 posts and does not
go back into the archives. This is probably the feed you
want to subscribe to n your RSS readers.
You can find our feeds here, or subscribe automatically in

Product Review Policy:
From time to time we may
review products on our show and/or post written reviews on
our website. We talk about the product we personally use
and like and try to limit the topics we discuss and review
to those that a relevant to the Mac community. If you wish
to have your product considered for review you may submit
your product for consideration.
If you have a software based product we request you submit
two full version NFR copies of your software, one for each
Katie and Corey. We generally don't review Beta products
unless they have gone Golden Master nor do we review
product demos. If you have a physical product for review,
conduct us for additional information on where to send your
product. Please note due to time constraints and the large
number of requests we receive we generally do not return
items submitted for review unless arrangements have been
made in advance. Hardware items that are submitted for
reviews if not kept will typically be donated to local
Apple User Groups or used for contests or product
giveaways.
We strive for journalistic integrity offering thoughtful
and honest opinions. We do not submit preview copies of our
reviews however if we have made a mistake of fact in our
review we will of course correct the error as quickly as
possible. We do not guarantee that any item submitted will
actually receive a review either in our podcast or on our
website nor do we guarantee any time-frame in which a
product will be reviewed.
If you have any special circumstances, please
email us to discuss them prior to
submitting your product for review.
