NewsSo you may have heard the news, I’ve officially lost all sense of sanity and am starting yet another podcast.
If you don’t read David Sparks
MacSparky blog, you should. David is a fellow Mac Geek and member of the
Mac Roundtable podcast. David and I first met, in person, at Macworld 2008 and became fast friends. Over the years and months we have been talking quite a bit about how to be more productive with our Macs and how we use them not only for play, but for work as well. Perhaps it’s the legal training, but David and I think a lot of like. We’re both more than a little a little obsessive about our Macs, staying organized, and being productive. We started kicking around the idea of doing a podcast but agreed that the Mac podcast space was already filled with really great podcasters and shows that we wouldn’t start yet another Mac podcast unless we truly felt we could add something new to the forum.
After much thought, we decided that we wanted to produce a show where we take one topic and go in-depth. Our first episode, to be published in the next week, will focus on email. Managing it, organizing it, creating a workflow, and using it productivley. Why start with email? Because it’s not as simple as you think, and it’s something everyone can relate to. We’ll probably add other segments over time and we’ll take questions and have on special guests and experts from time to time. But let’s be clear, this is not a news and rumors show. Sure, from time to time we will cover timely topics but we’re going to try to keep the focus on the show of really “going deep” on one topic.
“Episode Zero” is now posted to iTunes and
you can subscribe to the podcast here. The first show is a 5 minute introduction designed to setup the feed and make sure everything works before we throw the real content out there. You can expect our first show to post within a week and our plan is to post about 2 shows a month to start.
Now, let me make one thing very clear. This new project is in addition to all the things I regularly do here at the MacCore and over at the Mac Roundtable. Corey and I have setup a recording schedule and regularly brainstorm ideas for future MacCore episodes. Mac Power Users will not take away from The MacCore Podcast that Corey and I do together. In fact, I anticipate having to do some more in-depth research and exposing myself to new ideas and ways of working when doing the Mac Power Users Podcast so I hope that these experiences and knowledge will only serve to enhance what we do here at the MacCore.
